SORRY THE WORD OF GOD
With what will the young man cleanse his way? With saving your word. Ps. 119: 9.
Mohammed Sidique Khan exploded a bomb in the subway train passing by Edgware Road Station in England, the fateful July 7, 2005. I was in St. Louis, Missouri, when I learned of the terrible attack that killed six people.
Researchers discovered that Kahn was a teacher of children with learning disabilities, and had a one-year-old daughter. His friends said that as a child and teenager, Kahn was sweet and good, but began to get together with radical people and gradually became cold, hard and calculating.
In relation to what a person believes, I mention this young man as an example of what the constant repetition of a line of conduct can do. Evidently Khan had chosen the path of violence, which has no justification from any point of view.
The psalmist mentions in today's text "the way". Apparently, it refers to a dirty road that needs to be cleaned. The Hebrew word used here to "keep" literally means "cleansing," ie, purifying, arranging.
The road, in Hebrew orach, is usually used to describe the track where the carts passed when the earth was wet, after the rain, which becomes hard when the sun warms. Everything indicates that the cars that will come after, will pass through the same footprint.
The psalmist speaks of someone who repeatedly followed the path of evil and whose heart was hardened and insensitive to good.
Is there remedy for that person? Yes! The remedy of the Word of God. He who discovers the divine counsel and begins to practice it, will soon discover that in front of him opens another path, another trace that will lead to the field of service and good.
Treasuring the Word of God in the heart will lead you to live a meaningful life-style. Ignored, on the other hand, can be fatal.
Make this day a day of wise decisions and victories. Do not run after your own ideas, consult with Him who never fails. And if you feel that you have chosen the wrong route, do not despair, I said next to the psalmist: "With what will the young man cleanse his way?
